U.S. Development Group LLC is nearing completion of its new Eagle Ford Crude Terminal in Cotulla, a logistics hub that will ship crude oil, condensate and related products from the Eagle Ford Shale to outbound customers.
The terminal, which is located 80 miles south of San Antonio on Interstate 35, should be completed in July. Eagle Ford Shale producers will be able to ship their products via rail and truck. The terminal’s rail operations will have the capacity to handle up to 40,000 barrels per day. Union Pacific Railroadwill be able to transport product to any refinery or chemical plant with a connecting rail line.
However, U.S. Development Group has also acquired a 500-acre tract of land in LaSalle County near Gardendale, Texas, to build pipeline infrastructure.
“We’ve conceived a unique facility that will serve the industry’s short-term needs with a highly capable rail loading facility,” says Larry Padfield, U.S. Development Group vice president of development. “Long term, as pipeline infrastructure is developed, the hub will provide the market with both rail and outbound pipeline solutions to the major refining and distribution markets.”
